To all my friends and family in the United States, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! April, Savannah, and I will celebrate with friends this evening, though we do not get the day (or even tomorrow!) off from work. It’s a regular old day without any Pilgrims or Native Americans. We have been in full Christmas swing for at least a month over here (there were Christmas items in the Co-op in September, though).
On the menu tonight: turkey, sweet potatoe pie, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie. I am supposed to remember to put the turkey in the oven at 3:30 (reminders from readers will be helpful). Then, it will be the Macy’s 82nd Thanksgiving Day Parade on the SlingPlayer!
Any Americans wishing to give Thanksgiving Memories in the comments, please do so. British questions about the holiday are also encouraged!
Completely unrelated, today is also Lancashire Day (27th November). This is our fifth November living in Lancashire and I have never heard of it before, but supposedly it is supposed to have been established in the 1200s. So, to all my Lancashire friends, Happy Lancashire Day!
